At Gotham Cheer, we believe cheerleading is more than a sport—it’s a community where

everyone feels seen, valued, and accepted. As an adult LGBTQ+ cheer team in NYC, we

prioritize creating a safe, inclusive space where members can be their authentic selves.

A Culture of Acceptance

Gotham Cheer is built on respect, diversity, and empowerment. We welcome people of all

backgrounds, identities, and skill levels. Our practices foster teamwork, trust, and open

communication, ensuring that everyone feels supported both on and off the mat.

We actively promote mental health awareness and provide a network of support for our

members. Through team-building activities, social events, and community service, we strengthen

bonds and create lifelong friendships.

Beyond the Mat

Our commitment to belonging extends beyond cheerleading. We partner with organizations like

The Brooklyn Pride Community Center, God’s Love We Deliver, SAGE, Ali Forney Center, The Door, and The Trevor Project to support the wider LGBTQ+ community. By combining athleticism with advocacy, we uplift each other and our community.
