Each year, Gotham Cheer chooses 1-2 local charities that benefit and empower NYC’s LGBTQIA+ youth. We provide volunteers to assist the chosen nonprofits and their programs, promote them year-round to increase awareness and visibility, and create fundraisers to support their ongoing work.
With the COVID-19 global pandemic ongoing, Gotham Cheer has shifted our usual strategies and events to include more creative ways to deliver community service. We developed mentoring video series, participated in COVID-19 outreach initiatives, created mental health & wellness photo campaigns and webinars, led body & meditation virtual workshops, and collected winter apparel, PPE and toiletries for homeless LGBTQIA+ youth during the pandemic. In the fall/winter of 2020, Gotham Cheer raised nearly $12,000 for our beneficiaries and continues to support our community in 2021 and now in 2022.
The Door's mission is to empower young people to reach their potential by providing comprehensive youth development services in a diverse and caring environment. Since 1972, The Door has helped a diverse and rapidly growing population of disconnected youth in NYC gain the tools they need to become successful, in school, work and in life.
Gotham Cheer has innovative ways to assist the community with the help of our friends, colleagues, and allies. Our unique vision to support the community through partnerships, diversity and inclusivity strengthen the future of our youth.
Boxers NYC is the place for gay sports leagues and fans to meet. Their support of Gotham Cheer is unparalleled and only matched by their dedication and commitment to gay culture to increase awareness for local LGBT charities and gay athletes.
SAGE is the world’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT elders. Gotham Cheer is proud to continue serving meals and connecting with the LGBT elders of SAGE to support our fierce and fabulous community pioneers.
By volunteering to paint sets and walls, assisting with an intimate Gala Dinner, and adding spirit to their extraordinary and legendary Auction, Gotham Cheer continues our special partnership with Bailey House.
Now part of Housing Works, Bailey House provides supportive services for clients to transform the lives and opportunities of low-income New Yorkers.
Besides providing top-notch entertainment, cocktails and dancing, Rise Bar / Lounge gives back to our LGBTQIA+ community and is now also an official community sponsor of Gotham Cheer.

Our members are a volunteer force that helps New York City by going above and beyond cheerleading in various ways from outreach to the elderly, youth development, and fighting the stigmas associated with homelessness and HIV.
