New York City’s Pride Cheerleaders
Gotham Cheer is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit adult cheerleading team that was created out of our personal drive to give back to those who are in need, particularly Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer or Questioning homeless or disadvantaged youth. We aim to be leaders in the community through volunteer work and community service events.
MEANS TO ME
For this year’s Pride, we launched our Gotham Cheer "What Pride Means To Me" video series, featuring members of our team. Hear it first, directly from the mouths of our diverse and unique cheerleaders, alumni and volunteers, what personally influences their sense of PRIDE. Check out the videos!
Inclusivity is the heart of our organization. Gotham Cheer welcomes diverse people from all types of backgrounds and talents.
The Gotham Cheer family is made up of unique service-oriented LGBTQIA+ adult members dedicated to making an impact on our neighbors, Community Partners, the U.S. and beyond.
Each year, Gotham Cheer chooses a local charity that benefits and empowers New York City’s LGBTQIA+ youth. In 2020, Gotham Cheer has chosen TWO charities as beneficiaries of the Gotham Cheer Community Partner Grant – ACQC & Trinity Place Shelter. Their mission is to help homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer youth and young adults.

"Gotham Cheer has been a way for me to connect with like-minded adults who have a passion for the community. Through this organization, I have made life-long connections and friendships that have given me the confidence and courage to ALWAYS be my unique self."
